What is thermal imaging?

Abnormal body temperature is a natural indicator of illness. Diagnostic thermal imaging is a non-contact and non-invasive alternative to conventional imaging methods.

Thermal Imaging can be used as a complementary diagnostic method e.g. in orthopedics, occupational medicine, vascular medicine, oncology, rheumatic inflammation, trauma, post-operative or fracture pain, dentistry, and diabetic foot complications.

Fast, safe and easy

As a complementary diagnostic method, thermal imaging will allow quick and easy detection of asymmetric body temperature indicating underlying pathologies, such as inflammation, circulatory issues and possible ulcerations.

Breast cancer

The use of a computer system for tumor diagnosis in mammogram based on various methods of image processing can help doctors in decision-making, while the use of thermal imaging in the pre-screening phase would significantly reduce the list of women for screening mammograms.

Osteomyelitis

Thermidas ThIR-A615 allowed the team to assess temperature fluctuation across the whole foot thus clarifying the origin of the temperature rise.

This had a significant positive impact on the patient’s quality of life allowing her to maintain a greater degree of independence.

Rheumatism

Potential of modern thermal imaging for screening and differentiation of joint inflammation has not been previously assessed in child and juvenile patient populations, typically demanding groups in diagnostics of musculoskeletal disorders.

We have demonstrated that thermal imaging may have potential for detecting joint inflammation in ankle joints of children.

Sports Medicine has two main goals: injury prevention and performance increase.

Thermal imaging has shown great potential to ensure better results for athletes by identifying risks, preventing injuries and increasing performance.
