Visualizing Recovery and Readiness: A New Study Tracks Player Health Throughout the Season

We are pleased to share exciting news about a new study. This season, Thermidas will collaborate with a Finnish volleyball team to follow their journey using thermal imaging technology.

At the beginning of the season, baseline thermal images were captured for all players. These images are being used as reference points for each athlete’s normal thermal profile. Follow-up imaging sessions will be conducted to observe physiological changes and collect comparative data.

If an injury is sustained by a player during the season, targeted thermal images of the affected area will be taken, and imaging will be continued throughout the recovery process. This approach allows inflammation to be visualized, healing progress to be tracked, and treatment effectiveness to be assessed.

This collaboration will provide valuable insights into how thermal imaging can support injury prevention, recovery, and overall athlete health.

Each player's thermal images are stored in the patient database for future reference.
The baseline imaging includes thermal images of the players' limbs from different directions.
